Up The Blue Hill
Up the Blue Hill is an imaginary place—a placeholder for a tale.
The works presented in this exhibition form a conglomerate of objects, maquettes, and reliefs, elements of a fictional terrain. This place is not physically defined but loosely outlined as a scene—an evocation rather than a location. The arrangement invites a psycho-geographical orientation central to Delev’s practice, suggesting that these subjective, material articulations serve as navigational tools within a mental landscape.
The objects on display feel simultaneously familiar and otherworldly. They echo other times—whether from the past, the future, or some space beyond. The reliefs depict simulated environments, accentuating an uncanny atmosphere. This interplay between analog and digital elements is central to Delev’s exploration, as he merges both realms to question the boundaries of the real.
As the current tendencies in regards of media technologies readjust the question of „real“, Delev’s intention is to uncover the terrains of the subjective as an additional value of perception of the environment.
