for The Shy Guy fanzine

Claire Detallante doesn't remember how the idea emerged. Benoît Béthume commissioned her to work on the layout of The Shy Guy, his fanzine about naked men and Eros, with a clear slogan: "It's fun, it's cute but it's hot". Claire began by drawing a little mascot with an astrological appearance. They both adored it.
She repeated the process, developing the characters through the lens of the zodiac. While Benoît was photographing these young men in their gradually unraveled nudity, she assigned each with a sign determined by Fire, Earth, Water and Air.
With a firm line, no shadows, and clear intention, she drew 12 silhouettes pictured in profile that seemed like logos representing the timid and well-known planetary dignities.
Resembling the canons of Greek beauty, the characters bear an almost hieroglyphic eye with but with more detail. Did you ignore that Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces had a sex?
Claire Detallante, however, didn’t. It's because she easily notices what others hardly see. Call it the gift of observation. With her, we enter another dimension
You are allowed to smile.
She may be French, however her humour, comics, and her sense of storytelling are Belgian, owing to her roots. Her characters are sex symbols. They make up her little family now.
Claire plans to expand this collection. Perhaps with women?
