What is home when a place is no longer yours?

This exhibition reflects on the search for belonging after displacement. When home becomes uncertain, small objects begin to carry its meaning — a cup, books, or a lamp. They do not replace home, but they soften the loss and create moments of warmth. Here, home is not a place, but a fragile collection of things that travel with us.

“…I don’t know where my home is now, or if this feeling will return. But these small objects help to cope with circumstances.”

Sainte Maria is a Russian-born international illustrator and artist (b. 1990) currently based in Düsseldorf. Her hand-painted illustrations which capture objects and sceneries in a recognizable style, have earned her worldwide acclaim. Fascinated by avant-garde movements and captivated by the world of fashion and design, she found her niche in illustration after completing her Master degree in graphic design(2014). Since then, she has been passionate about transforming everything around her into works of art, from packaging and shoes to everyday moments.
